Chairman & CEO Message
The Almac Group was established in 2001. The company provides an extensive range of pharmaceutical services to a global market. Almac is an established, international brand with a reputation for innovation, quality and customer service.
The commitment towards the improvement of human health through the advancement of medicine is absolute. Throughout the company customer service is at the centre of what Almac stands for, what it does and who we are.
From ‘bench to bedside’ Almac delivers tailored solutions which meet client requests.

Galen Ltd, the original company, was founded in 1968 and is itself a successful Pharma business of considerable international repute. Galen heralded the establishment of Almac and was founded with a significant proportion of current staff including the majority of our present senior management team. The depth of experience found throughout the Almac team is the backbone of this global and highly successful business.
Almac's North American Headquarters in Souderton, PA was opened by Senator George Mitchell in May 2011. The new development represents $120 million investment and brings strength to the Almac position as a truly global organisation and a global leader in pharmaceutical services.
On 12th January 2010 we received sad news that Sir Allen McClay, our founder and chairman, had passed away after a short illness. Allen always referred to all employees of Almac as his ‘family’ and as such everyone who knew Allen respected him and he is greatly missed by everyone in the organisation. Allen’s greatest wish was to see Almac continue to flourish in the pharmaceutical world and as such he would have been pleased that despite his passing, the organisation has had its most successful year ever. We at Almac are determined to continue the vision that Allen was so proud of and that is ‘to be the leader in the generation of superior solutions for the advancement of human health’.
We are committed to understanding and exceeding our customers’ needs and expectations. Through our global project management resource, with many years experience and knowledge we become a seamless extension of our industry partners.
We ensure exceptional and reliable quality in all aspects of our work and recognise that quality determines the extent of our success. Almac typically has over 200 successful comprehensive audits per year, however we take seriously and act upon all recommendations passed on by auditors to ensure our quality service is unsurpassed.

Over 50% of our staff have third level education and we continually strive to recruit the best people globally into our organisation which currently has 3,000 members. The majority of our senior management team having been with the organisation for over 15 years.
Almac is privately owned with no venture capital or other external investment and is therefore not answerable to shareholders. Almac is solely committed to long-term development and growth with all profit being re-invested into the business.
