My role involves working closely with hiring managers across the business to ensure end-to-end recruitment activities are carried out effectively. A typical day as a Talent Acquisition Specialist could vary from posting vacancy advertisements, compiling shortlisting for hiring managers, assisting with interviews as well as coordinating and assisting with the promotion of Almac at recruitment/careers events.

Working as part of a busy Talent Acquisition Team I have been involved in a number of exciting projects. I particularly enjoyed working on the recruitment open day for our newly established site in Dundalk, Ireland. This involved creating promotional advertisements to increase the exposure of the event and to promote new job opportunities. Through coordinating and facilitating the event I got to see first-hand how successful the day was and how beneficial it was to the business.
I balance my career and personal life quite well and doing a job I enjoy makes it much easier. It is important to take some time to yourself away from work, and with the flexible working arrangement in place within Almac, creating a work-life balance is a lot easier. Having a good support network, both at home and at work, helps me keep a balance that suits my career and personal life.
