We understand that healthcare benefits provide peace of mind and the resources you need to improve or maintain your wellbeing. Almac therefore provides comprehensive and competitive benefits program offerings for Medical coverage (including prescription drug coverage), Dental coverage, and Vision coverage. The costs of these benefits are shared between Almac and its employees, with Almac subsidizing a significant portion of the costs of these benefits and the employee’s share being deducted on a pre-tax basis. For those already covered under a medical plan, Almac offers a medical waiver incentive of $2,000/year in exchange for waiving Almac’s medical benefits.
Healthcare Spending Accounts
Depending on the medical benefit plan selected, employees will have an option to set aside money on a pre-tax basis into either a Health Savings Account (HSA) and/or a Limited-Purpose Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, or a Healthcare FSA to help offset eligible out of pocket healthcare expenses. For those enrolled in the H.S.A. medical plan, the Company will contribute to the employee’s HSA at a rate of $1,300/year for employee-only coverage and $2,600/year for employee + 1 or more.
Dependent Care Spending Account
You can use the Dependent Care FSA to set aside up to $5,000 per plan year ($2,500 if married and filing separate tax returns) on a pre-tax basis to be used for qualified child/elder care expenses in order for you and/or your spouse to work or attend school on a full-time basis. Qualified expenses include babysitting and child/adult day care.
Commuter Spending Accounts
For those working in our San Francisco, California location, you can use the Commuter FSA to help reduce the cost of your daily commute by paying for these expenses with pre-tax money. Eligible commuting expenses include mass transit and parking. Almac provides a subsidy for these accounts of up to $100.
401(k) Retirement Plan
Through this program, employees can set aside money on a pre-tax basis, or a post-tax (Roth) basis, to save for retirement, subject to IRS allowable limits. The Plan offers a diverse line-up of investment options to choose from, and convenient options to help increase retirement savings, such as the Automatic Increase Program. Almac matches $0.50 of each $1.00 invested up to 6% of the employee’s combined deferral into the Plan.
Employee Assistance Program
We appreciate that from time to time our employees may experience personal problems which may adversely impact upon their work performance, health and well-being. We have therefore ensured that help is at hand when you need it most. A confidential employee assistance program is available 24/7, 365 days a year to all staff through Aetna’s Resources for Living. The EAP offers a wide range of support services such as counselling and support (telephone and face to face sessions) and resources and services on matters such as health and well-being, finance and legal issues.
Almac offers Short Term Disability (STD) and a Long Term Disability (LTD) benefits to support you should you fall ill or incur a non-work related injury that prevents you from being able to work. The short term disability policy provides up to 60% of eligible pay, starting after an absence of 7 calendar days for up to 12 weeks. The long term disability policy provides up to 60% of eligible pay, starting after short term disability ends up to the maximum benefit period as outlined in the policy. Upgrade options are available at an additional cost.
Life Insurance And AD&D Policy
We understand the importance of knowing your family will be taken care of in the event of your passing or tragic accident. Almac therefore provides Group Life Insurance Coverage and Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) Insurance Coverage, both of which provide 2 x salary up to $200,000 in the event of your death or dismemberment. Upgrade options and family coverage are also available at an additional cost.
Critical Illness Policy
We understand that some employees may have long or intermittent absences due to critical illness, so we offer a provision in addition to the Company Paid STD and LTD benefits to help during the associated recovery period. Depending on the diagnosis of a specified illness covered under the critical illness policy, you can receive a lump sum benefit of up to $5,000. Coverage under this benefit is extended to your dependent children, with a maximum benefit payment up to $1,250 if your child is diagnosed with an illness covered by the policy.
Employee Benefits Advocacy Service
Almac understands the healthcare system can be difficult to navigate, and we want you to get the most out of the benefits made available to you. Therefore, we offer a dedicated and confidential 3rd party benefits advocacy service through our partners at Gallagher. They can assist with any and all insurance matters, from simple general questions to complicated and specific claims concerns, for all Almac benefit offerings except the 401(k) Plan. Any retirement assistance must be handled either through Fidelity or through the support of our 3rd party advisory firm, Centurion Group.
Onsite Employee Exercise Facility
Almac has an onsite gym in our Souderton, PA and Audubon, PA sites. The gym is free of charge and available to be used by all employees regardless of what site you work at. The gym offers a wide variety of weight lifting circuit training equipment, as well as treadmills, bikes, and elliptical machines. Locker rooms provide a space to change and shower after your work out.
