The Role
Our Senior Laboratory Technicians are kept busy by providing support to their direct Operations manager by performing, monitoring and accepting full accountability for all assigned duties associated with the role. This includes scheduling work, deputising for the team leader/operations manager as required, stock control , and receipt of consumables and reagents. They also train and mentor junior staff, problem solve and troubleshoot, and participate in customer audits. What we are looking for
To be successful as a Senior Laboratory Technician at Almac Diagnostic Services, you will need to have strong lab skills including a high level of accuracy, ability to manage timescales, and ability to prioritise and plan a high-volume varied workload. You will need A-Level (or equivalent) within a science discipline, experience of inventory management and receipt of consumables and reagents.
Whilst not essential, it would be highly advantageous if you had a HND (or equivalent) in a biological or related life sciences discipline and experience of calibration and maintenance of automated and non-automated laboratory equipment. Sample management would also be desirable.
