The Role

You will be a key contributor to the evolution of the Operational Excellence journey within Almac Clinical Services. As a member of the plant and equipment team, you will lead continuous improvement initiatives within both production and plant areas that will drive process performance, quality and reliability whilst always ensuring safe operation and compliance with GxP regulations where appropriate.

Your role:

  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement through the implementation of Lean and 6 Sigma tools and techniques.
  • Analyse current operating data to evaluate processes, identifying opportunities for optimisation.
  • Lead improvement projects by defining the scope, generating project plans, determining resource requirements and monitoring progress to ensure successful delivery.
  • Provide coaching and deliver training to build the teams knowledge and capabilities.
  • Become the SME for our core processes maintaining operating procedures, process flows and training material.
  • Monitor performance establishing key performance indicators to ensure processes remain in control.
  • Investigate performance or reliability issues, offering problem solving support and identifying solutions which are corrective and prevent reoccurrence.

Whilst previous experience in the pharmaceutical industry is not essential, we are looking for someone with experience of delivering improvements within a quality focused production environment. We want someone with initiative, great communication skills, the ability to inspire and who is motivated by a challenge, to support us on our exciting journey to achieve operational excellence.

Key Requirements

  • Have eligibility to work in the UK OR possess a valid work permit that will allow you to take up full time employment in the UK
  • Educated to degree level in an Engineering discipline.
  • Demonstrate track record of delivering excellent results and projects in a similar role.
  • Experience of engineering systems and compliance with statutory regulation.
  • Knowledge across a variety of plant and utilities commonly used in the pharmaceutical industry: Process and Packaging machinery, HVAC systems, steam generation, chilled water plant, compressed air plant, purified water systems etc.
  • Experience investigating and documenting plant or process failures and implementation of corrective and preventative actions
