Almac Group is currently seeking a Cloud Engineer for our Souderton, PA location. The Cloud Engineer has primary responsibility for all servers and networking equipment supporting mission critical 24x7 networking services for all Almac sites and is responsible for the installation, configuration, troubleshooting and maintenance of all computerized equipment.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Installation, configuration, troubleshooting and maintenance of all computerized systems
- Provide ongoing support of existing infrastructure to maintain uptimes within the agreed service level agreement
- Provide documentation in line with company standard operating procedures
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline
- Experience with configuration, deployment, and support of infrastructure and the applications.
- 10+ years’ experience in IT support in a 24x7 environment
- 10+ years related experience
- 10+ years of experience managing a highly available (99.999%) public-facing, front-end web server / website, with a focus on configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting
- Extensive understanding of private and public cloud technologies and operations – VMWare and AWS
- Extensive understanding of Infrastructure as Code to build, test, and deploy infrastructure for application environments. Specifically Terraform
- Extensive understanding of various VMware technologies – ESXi, VRealize Suite, NSX-T
- Extensive Server hardware/software configuration experience
- Strong background in Windows Administration
- Ability to use a wide variety of open-source technologies and cloud services
- Knowledge of best practices and IT operations in an always-up, always-available service
- Familiarity with network troubleshooting
- Solid understanding of networking and core Internet protocols (e.g. TCP/IP, DNS, SMTP, HTTP, and distributed networks)
- Extensive experience with Multi-Account AWS Organizations and Control Tower
- Extensive experience and knowledge of AWS services like Lambda, S3, EC2, Aurora, DynamoDB, CloudTrail, CloudWatch, and ECS
- Extensive experience with Containerization in AWS
- Extensive experience with AWS Security tools such as Guardduty, Inspector, Config.
- Extensive experience building serverless architecture in AWS.
Preferred:
- MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline or equivalent
- 5+ years monitoring experience tools like Nagios.
- 5+ years of experience with VM management, preferably VMWare.
- 5+ year’s knowledge of scripting with PowerShell, or equivalent scripting language.
- Cloud networking and hybrid connectivity with expertise in BGP and SD-WAN solutions as well as AWS networking services such as Direct Connect.
- Large infrastructure migration, e.g. on-premise DC migration to AWS, and new builds for new applications/services into AWS
- 5+ years configuring and managing Check Point firewalls or equivalent
- Experience with Directory Services such as LDAP, TDS, LDS, Active Directory, ADFS
- Familiarity with job scheduling technologies
- HP Bladesystem / server blades or equivalent
- Support of storage area networks – preferably IBM
- Certification in one or more of the following technologies preferred: AWS, SysOps Administrator, DevOps Engineer
