- Provide day-to-day supervision of testing personnel and reporting of test results within the high complexity Clinical Testing Laboratory
- Coordinate the activities of junior team members to ensure the completion of clinical testing within agreed timeframes
- Be responsible for the generation, revision, and/or review of laboratory or equipment-related SOPs and other quality documents
- Perform molecular biological techniques as required, including nucleic acid extraction, gene expression microarray testing and qPCR, and adhere to the laboratory's quality control policies. Experience with Next Generation Sequencing procedures is desirable.
- Monitor specimen examinations and test analyses to ensure that acceptable levels of analytic performance are maintained at all times.
- B.S. or M.S..in chemical or biological science, or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution
- With B.S. or MS degree, 4+ years of training/experience in high complexity molecular testing
- With Ph.D., 1+ years training/experience performing in high complexity molecular testing
- Understanding of molecular biology and genomic testing techniques including nucleic acid extractions (DNA and RNA) and qPCR
- Knowledge of Good Laboratory Practice and Good Clinical Practice Guidelines
- BS. or M.S.in chemical or biological science, or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution plus Board Certification as a Medical Technologist or Technologist in Molecular Biology qualified to work within a CLIA Laboratory performing high complexity testing
- Ph.D. in chemical or biological science, or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution
- Have served as a senior technologist or supervisor in a high complexity CLIA testing environment
- Experience using Laboratory Information Management Systems
- Substantial experience in troubleshooting molecular laboratory techniques
- Experience in scheduling laboratory work
- Experience preparing for/participating in laboratory audits, from CAP and other regulatory agencies
- Experience reviewing/reporting qPCR, Nanostring, microarray and/or Next Generation Sequencing Data
