- It is the responsibility of the Key Account Manager (KAM) to maximize sales revenue and profitability for each allocated account. The KAM will develop and execute business plan tactics which support the strategies to ensure continued growth in core service uptake per account.
- Proactively communicate Almac value creation to clients.
- Acting as the Global Point of Contact for Almac Clinical Services the KAM will assume ultimate responsibility for promoting the range of services to well established business critical accounts. The KAM will arrange and participate in face-to-face meetings as required and through regular contact the KAM will ensure that their allocated accounts are kept up-to-date with any developments within the Almac group and/or Clinical Services

- Patient foresight and focus is central to the Almac vision. As such, the KAM must gain an understanding as to the needs of the client, in order to offer patient centric innovative solutions, giving Almac clear and distinct advantage in a competitive market.

- KAM responsibilities include providing marketplace competitor intelligence, in addition sharing client insights which may serve to inform BD management and marketing with new ideas for internal and external process improvement.
- Develop and lead a global team which allows each member to reach their full potential.
- As the central point of contact for clients throughout the quoting process the KAM role will drive an internal team in order to complete and maintain proposals based on the scope of services required. It is the responsibility of the KAM to ensure that the global capacity and facilities of Clinical Services are considered as part of all quotations and that work is placed in the appropriate Clinical Services facility or facilities.
- Bachelors degree OR substantial relevant practical business experience
- A minimum of five years experience as a sales representative or sales manager in the pharmaceutical or packaging industry
- Knowledge of clinical trials and the pharmaceutical industry OR knowledge of the contract packaging industry OR knowledge of logistics/supply chain management.
- Knowledge of all policies used within BD to price work and ensure Almac receives revenue from all quoted services.
- Knowledge of BD interfaces with other departments within Clinical Services (and other Almac Divisions), and what these departments need from BD.
- Strong understanding of core account management or business development processes, including but not limited to business planning, sales forecasting, sales funnel lifecycle management, key account management principles
- Bachelors degree within a Life Science or Business related discipline
- A minimum of five years of experience in the contract packaging industry, with demonstrated success with meeting / exceeding sales objectives within the role
- A minimum of two years of experience of working within the Almac Clinical Services organization, with a complete working knowledge of the ACS organization’s structure and operational functions
- Previous experience within a customer facing business to business sales role with a clinical supply focus
- Previous experience of managing large global accounts within a Key Account Manager role (to include relationship maintenance and development and revenue generation) within a target driven environment
- Previous practical experience with CRM software
- Previous experience of presenting to groups of key decision makers on business solutions, service offerings etc (to include both preparation and delivery of presentation materials)
- Knowledge of all policies used within Almac Clinical Services Business Development to price work and ensure Almac receives revenue from all quoted services.
- Knowledge of Almac Clinical Services Business Development interfaces with other departments within Clinical Services (and other Almac Divisions), and what these departments need from BD.
