Director – Label Services

Almac Group is currently seeking a Director of Label Services in our Clinical Services Division. 
The Director of Label Services will manage all aspects of the development of clinical labels which fully meet customer requirements, including project management, MELT generation, text translation, regulatory review, and proof design.  The Director will also lead Clinical Services’ efforts in innovation and commercialization of clinical labels aiming to maximize financial contribution and develop a label service which meets or exceeds current industry standards for delivery and quality.   The Director and the entire Label Services organization will closely liaise with the customer and Clinical Services’ Business Development, Project Services, and Procurement departments to ensure the timely development of high-quality labels for subsequent printing, inspection, and delivery by the Production department.
 
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
 
  • Working with operational senior management and executives, develop and set priorities for the strategic roadmap for clinical labels, ensuring alignment with complementary products and services.  The roadmap should align with Clinical Services’ 5-year strategic plan and fully consider current industry and competitive best practices regarding service, innovation, and technology. 
  • Streamline Almac’s current label development functions into a cohesive and competent global Label Services organization.  Ensure staff are managed, trained, and motivated to their maximum performance potential.   Undertake a high personal standard of work and professional attitude as a senior manager within the Almac organization.
  • Improve current processes to optimize their efficiency and effectiveness.  Develop new systems and processes which are fully GxP compliant and ensure label services meet or exceed current industry expectations.  Initiate process improvement initiatives to optimize service quality and customer experience.
  • Serve as the company’s lead SME for clinical label services, in support of internal business projects, internal and industry education events, and customer audits, meetings, and bid defences.
  • Manage annual budgets for label services and drive performance to maximize revenue capture, minimize costs, and increase profit margins.  Work with Business Development to optimize label service pricing and customer likelihood of selecting Almac for its label services.
 
Qualifications:
 
Required Experience / Education:
  • Bachelors degree  
  • Proven experience (3 years or more) in each of the following areas, which can be combined:
    • Pharmaceutical or Clinical Trial Supply Industry
    • Managing delivery of a customer or operational service
    • Defining and delivering new business projects and/or improvements
    • Customer service in a business-to-business environment
    • Management of a sizeable team of professionals
Preferred Experience / Education:
 
  • Bachelor's Degree In Sciences, Technology, Engineering, or Business Administration, Management, or Innovation
  • Label Services or Clinical Technology 
    • Management of line or department level managers
    • Supplier management
