As part of our global workshop series on improving efficiencies within the clinical trial supply chain, we are delighted to announce that our next complimentary workshop will take place on Thursday, 6th February 2020 in Copenhagen.

At this interactive workshop our experts Sharon Courtney and Nicholas Griffin will provide insight into distribution, comparator and IOR strategies. They will also walk you through a detailed case study which explores the nuances and challenges of importing/exporting in practice.

In addition you will participate in active engagement sessions helping you visualise the global clinical supply chain, as well as having the opportunity to network with your peers. Logistics Service Manager

Sharon is an International Logistics Specialist having worked for 18 years in Clinical Supply Chain. She has expert knowledge in a number of key areas within the end to end supply chain process including management and control of temperature sensitive shipments; risk mitigation (identifying and managing risk); developing and managing robust relationships with transport partners; chain of custody responsibilities; active and passive shipping solutions and import/export country knowledge.

Sharon has consistently delivered reliable and validated logistics solutions for customers based on her experience of establishing numerous international logistics models over the years. Sharon is passionate about providing excellent customer service in the area of logistics and this is demonstrated in her understanding of every role within the end to end supply chain process.

She has first-hand knowledge of working with customers, external organisations and the appropriate departments within Almac to deliver well established logistics solutions in the Pharma industry. Sharon has travelled widely with her work and has been instrumental in the development of the logistics service provided by Almac.

Nicholas Griffin

Global Procurement Manager

Nicholas has more than 30 years’ experience in global procurement and supply with over 25 years’ experience dedicated to the pharmaceutical industry. During this time, Nicholas has built up a wealth of knowledge of pharmaceutical procurement within the clinical supply environment.

Over the past 5 years Nicholas has been responsible for developing and growing the Global Commercial Product Procurement department within Almac, managing global teams in Europe, America and APAC. Nicholas and the team ensure that every element of comparator and commercial drug supply, under contract to Almac, is executed in a highly efficient manner, ensuring that strict time lines are achieved, quality is maintained and cost is managed.

Nicholas holds a BSC in Politics & Procurement from the University of Ulster and is MCips accredited.
