This Royal Society of Chemistry-sponsored event caters to GCSE Chemistry students (in years 11-12), and comprises a series of short, interactive talks from representatives of local companies (including Almac Group) who use Chemistry as part of their business activities. The “Chemistry at Work” programme will highlight the many and varied ways in which the Chemistry studied by children at school is used in the everyday world.

The Exhibition will also feature a host of easily understood demonstrations of how Chemistry can be used at work. Pupils are encouraged to participate (under supervision) in the lively and interactive demonstrations. These activities will stimulate an interest in all aspects of Chemistry, particularly in industry, and will showcase a range of aspects of the importance of Chemistry in our society.

When:  Tuesday 19th –  Wednesday 20th November 2019 – Sessions will operate from 09.40 – 12.15, and again from 12:55 – 15:30

Venue:  Whitla Hall, Queen’s University, Belfast
