Clinical Services Continues Expansion with New Refrigerated Facility

August 17, 2006

Almac Clinical Services announces a further expansion of resources available for refrigerated clinical trial supplies. The Clinical Services facility in Durham (NC) has recently opened a new 70,000 cu ft cold storage area (2-8C).

This adds to the already established high level of global capacity available dedicated to refrigerated clinical trial supplies. The unit consists of over 1500 shelved locations for storage and distribution of trial materials.

The clinical trial market has presented a huge increase in the requirements for dedicated cold chain facilities, particularly from the emergent Biotechnology sector. Temperature sensitive products require expertise in management of the complete supply chain, from shipper design, courier interactions and data monitoring to reduce overall risk to trial supplies.

Combined with Almac’s global depot network, cold–chain specialists and experience in cold-chain management , Almac now offers unrivaled cold chain resources for their client base.
