Almac Clinical Services wins Supply Chain Excellence Award at CPHI Pharma Awards 2026

Almac Clinical Services has won the Supply Chain Excellence Award at the CPHI Pharma Awards 2026, recognising the successful application of Almac Adapt™ in a complex, time-critical advanced therapy clinical study.

Presented in Milan, the award recognises the expertise and innovation behind Almac Adapt™ following its use in an advanced therapy study, where a high-value gene therapy needed to reach the clinical site within a fixed dosing window and under strict temperature-controlled conditions.

The study presented several significant supply chain challenges, including fixed neurosurgical dosing windows, extremely limited therapy availability, and storage and distribution requirements at -80°C. The Clinical Services team in Durham, North Carolina worked around the clock to coordinate operational readiness, treatment schedules and clinical supply, supporting an accelerated dosing timeline delivered in half the usual time.

Almac Adapt™ was developed to support complex and time-critical clinical supply requirements, providing a responsive approach that enables supply activity to be aligned with patient readiness and scheduled treatment. The team also supplied training materials ahead of the final delivery, helping the clinical site complete essential preparation before the procedure.

Nishma Patel, Supply Chain Solutions Manager at Almac Clinical Services, said:

“We’re incredibly proud to receive this award. It recognises not only Almac Adapt™, but the expertise, commitment and collaboration of colleagues who worked around the clock to support an exceptionally complex, time-critical study.

“When supporting complex advanced therapies, there can be no margin for error. Every detail from temperature control and logistics to site readiness and the dosing schedule must come together at exactly the right time. Ultimately, our role is to help our clients ensure treatment is ready when the patient is, and that is what makes this recognition particularly special.”

The award reflects the combined expertise across Almac Clinical Services, including project services, operations, warehousing, logistics and distribution, quality, labels, procurement, business development, Almac Adapt™ and temperature services.

This recognition highlights Almac Clinical Services’ continued commitment to developing flexible, patient-focused supply solutions that help clients successfully navigate increasingly complex clinical trials.
