Hurricane Ophelia: Almac Group Update

October 16, 2017

In anticipation of the impact expected by incoming Hurricane Ophelia, and in the interests of employee safety, Almac Group has closed its Northern Ireland operations on 16th October. It is planned that business will resume as normal on Tuesday 17th October.

Almac is committed to continuity of supply for our clients and customer service excellence and will endeavour to mitigate any significant impact due to this short closure.

Impact on clinical shipments

There has also been significant disruption to flights and sea crossings scheduled to depart from Northern Ireland and Ireland.

The cancellation of air and sea routes from Belfast / Dublin has impacted clinical supply shipments managed through Almac. Due to this temporary disruption, Almac have taken the decision to suspend all shipments on Monday 16th Oct to minimise the risk of any further delays.

Almac are working closely with our Courier partners to reduce any impact and have arranged for these shipments to be collected and despatched throughout Tuesday 17th Oct. Shipments due to be despatched on Monday 16th Oct may incur up to a 24 hour delay.

If you have any concerns or critical shipments that need to be prioritised please contact our monitored helpdesk at [email protected]
