Almac’s expansion project update – North America HQ, Souderton

Last Summer, we were delighted to share our plans with you regarding the 115,000 sq. ft. planned expansion to our North American Headquarters in Souderton, Pennsylvania. This project is our direct investment in the future – increasing our clinical supply capacity by 70%, and substantially increasing our just-in-time and cold and ultra-cold storage capabilities to ensure our support for your drug development needs.

Today, we’re glad to update you of our significant progress thus far. We have concluded the erection of the superstructure of the new buildings, with the frame now in place for the new ambient warehouse, finished goods distribution centre, mobile freezer areas, and supporting office areas.

Successfully reaching this milestone as planned and on time marks a major step forward for our project—as it now makes way for all preparations needed to begin fitting out the interior of the building.

As is customary in the U.S., this was celebrated by a “topping off” ceremony at the construction site. Watch the video here for a recap of the ceremony and for a glimpse of the activity on site.

Moving forward, we continue to assure that there will be no disruption to our Souderton operations. We are on track to complete the first phase of the expansion, construction of the new 15-25°C warehouse, in the second half of 2025 and look forward to keeping you updated on future progress.
