Mass Spectrometry: An HPLC-MS/MS Assay Method for the Determination of Digoxin in Human Plasma and Urine

Digoxin is a cardiac glycoside which has been used for many years in the management of congestive heart failure and other cardiac diseases. An HPLCMS/ MS method was developed and validated according to current industry guidelines for the determination of digoxin in human plasma and urine. The calibration range of the plasma method was 0.100 to 10.0ng/mL and the range for the urine method was 1.00 to 100ng/mL. Digitoxigenin was used as the internal standard. The analytes were extracted from plasma and urine using solid phase extraction cartridges.
