Almac’s signature generation workflow is the result of years of research and accumulated expertise of some of the leading experts in the field of machine learning and high dimensional data analysis. The workflow has been implemented according to best practice (MAQC Consortium 2010) and is composed of a number of sequential steps including data treatment, feature selection, classification and model selection, all of which are performed within cross-validation. Each step encompasses multiple different options to facilitate various study types:

• Clinical application,
• Small sample numbers or
• Categorical or continuous endpoints
