Current Role:
James Hurst is Vice President of Operations at Almac Pharma Services and Site Head of the organisation’s Charnwood facility in Loughborough, England. In this role, he provides strategic direction, operational management and performance of a key part of Almac Pharma Services’ global network and high potent drug product development and commercial manufacture service offering. The facilities and people at Charnwood, which opened in 2015 to meet increasing client requirements, have the capability to support tailored formulation development and GMP manufacturing of solid oral dosage forms for clinical and small-scale commercial needs, in addition to housing over 1,500 square meters of qualified unused customizable GMP floor space.
Previous Experience:
Prior to his role as Vice President and Site Head in Charnwood, James was Head of Pharmaceutical Development Operations at Almac’s global HQ site in Craigavon. He has worked in the pharmaceutical industry for over 24 years, holding positions with Covance, Sanofi Aventis and Almac. Having operated in senior management roles across analytical chemistry, drug Product development, and commercial supply James has broad expertise in leading complex Pharmaceutical development and manufacturing operations.
