Almac Diagnostic Services adds single cell sequencing to its lab services to further enable biopharma clients research needs

Almac Diagnostic Services, a member of the Almac Group, has announced the launch of a new single cell RNA sequencing service. This addition will enhance its genomic services portfolio, providing biopharma clients access to the latest methods for biomarker research.

The Almac Single Cell Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) solution for biomarker discovery leverages the 10x Genomics Chromium X platform and chemistries to produce RNA-Seq data at the cellular level. This service is compatible with cell suspensions stored in Cryo-preservative or treated with Formaldehyde.

Almac’s Single Cell Sequencing service features a scalable bioinformatic pipeline powered by 10x Genomics’ Cell Ranger software, ensuring comprehensive quality control and precise single cell gene expression analysis. Clients can also opt for Almac’s custom bioinformatics solutions, which include cell type identification, differential expression analysis between cell types and pathway analysis.

Almac Diagnostic Services lab is the first commercial laboratory in Northern Ireland to achieve 10x Genomics Certified Service Provider (CSP) status. The certification was awarded in recognition of Almac’s expertise and data quality for single cell RNA-Seq projects. The CSP status ensures that clients benefit from best practice, are supported to overcome research challenges and can accelerate projects with confidence in the results.
