January 11, 2008

January 10, 2008. Almac Clinical Technologies and Merck Research Laboratories will be presenting a case study in adaptive trial design at CBI’s upcoming Adaptive Trial Logistics Conference on January 25 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The presentation will include insights from three speakers who had different but highly interrelated responsibilities on the case study: Ken Liu is a Senior Biometrician from Merck, Eva Miller is head of Biostatistics at Almac, and Leslie Darling is Clinical Services Manager at Almac.

The session will explore logistics of a novel trial design. Throughout the session, the speakers will discuss the impact of randomization algorithms on drug supply operations, the importance of interim reporting, and approaches for implementing automated drug supply management.

Val Higgins, Vice President of Clinical Project Services at Almac comments “We are delighted to present our efforts alongside Merck and share insights from our collaboration with the industry. We believe the benefits associated with adaptive trial design are significant and we are confident that the interactive nature of this session will allow for a great educational opportunity.”
