Almac holds “Engaged Member” Status with Acclaimed Sustainability Program

Craigavon, Northern Ireland – 24 November 2021 – Almac Group, the global contract pharmaceutical development and manufacturing organisation, is proud to announce that the company has enhanced its engagement with the Responsible Plastics Management (RPM) Program, an internationally recognised, not-for-profit membership organisation set up by certificate and sustainability experts to tackle the plastic pollute crisis.

As an engaged member, Almac will receive direct guidance from RPM on potential performance improvement measures to implement across the organisation in the area of plastics management, as well as strategies for promoting the responsible use of plastics with employees and the greater community. RPM’s recommendations leverage over 20 years’ experience of auditing and managing ISO 14000 series Standards and ISO 17065 Product and Systems Certification, the international gold standards for sustainability.

Commented Niall Harkin, Executive Director, “The plastic problem, if left unresolved, is contributing to pollution in our oceans, hazards to wildlife and threatening our human health and water security. As a global business with a mission to advance human health, Almac Group takes our corporate social responsibility to minimise these risks very seriously. We look forward to leveraging the vast expertise of RPM to promote the reduction, re-use and recycling of plastics at our facilities and across our global supply chain.”
