Almac’s Web Drug Reconciliation tool named finalist in GCPj awards
August 28, 2007
Product nominated in ‘Best Technological Development in Clinical Trial Management Systems’ category
Almac, the leading provider of complex interactive clinical technology solutions for clinical trials announced today that their Web Drug Reconciliation tool has been named a finalist in the Good Clinical Practice Journal (GCPj) Awards for the category of “Best Technological Development in Clinical Trial Management Systems.” GCPj has narrowed a large field down to four finalists in this category and a winner will be announced in September.
Almac’s Web Drug Reconciliation tool dramatically reduces the amount of time and effort spent by monitors and depot personnel managing the drug return and reconciliation process. Increased efficiency is achieved by making key drug tracking information from the IXRS™ (interactive voice and web response system) database available to monitors and depot personnel through a flexible and intuitive bi-layered web interface. The interface is configurable and can be tailored to support any distinct drug return process, which has been greatly praised by clients.
In addition, the interface significantly streamlines the process of isolating target kits by allowing users to sort and filter based on any data field and generates user-friendly reports that can be printed for permanent record.
Marisa Ehinger, Director of New Products & Services at Almac Clinical Technologies said:
“Our Web Drug Reconciliation tool is a key component of our closed loop drug management solution and allows us to track the entire lifecycle of each study drug unit from release to destruction with a 21 CFR Part 11 compliant audit trail.”
