Supporting guidance to achieve a fulfilling career
Almac hosts a series of unique, exciting and interactive workshops at W5 for post-primary schools that provide information about STEM careers in the pharmaceutical sector, and offer guidance on education paths from GCSE and beyond.
These events, tailored for each of the Key Stages from Year 8-14, provide students and teachers with the opportunity to speak with Almac staff, participate in practical demonstrations and get involved in hands-on activities.

Year 8/9 – Industry Insights : Inspirational Science Advancing Human Health
This event aims to inspire students about STEM by participation in presentations and fun hands-on activities that relate to Key Stage 3 Science topics.
Students will learn about the work carried out at Almac and will receive guidance regarding education paths that provide the training and skills required for a STEM career in the pharmaceutical industry. They will also visit MED-Lab and experience the enjoyable, interactive displays about the human body and how it works.
Year 10 – Decision Makers : Routes into STEM from GCSE and beyond

Which STEM subjects should I choose for GCSE?
This event will give an engaging and inspiring insight into the development and manufacture of medicines and diagnostic tests at Almac and provide information on education paths from GCSE and beyond that will equip students with the training and skills required for a STEM career in the pharmaceutical industry.
Work at Almac will be brought to life through presentations, practical demonstrations and hands-on activities. You will also have the opportunity to meet our staff in a specially designed speed-networking experiment.
Year 11/12 – A Career in the Pharmaceutical Industry : A-level subject choices and beyond
Would you like to have an exceptional and rewarding career in the development and manufacture of medicines and diagnostic tests to help improve the lives of patients around the world?
This event will provide an insight into the diverse range of career paths at Almac and offer guidance on the education paths at A-level and beyond that provide the training and skills required for a STEM career in the pharmaceutical industry.
You will have the opportunity to participate in practical demonstrations and meet with Almac staff to learn more about their roles and how you could one day join the Almac family.
Year 13/14 – Life in the Pharmaceutical Industry : Which Course? What Career?
Are you seeking a fulfilling, rewarding STEM career requiring innovation and creativity?
Would you like to be involved in the development and manufacture of medicines and diagnostic tests to help improve the lives of patients around the world?
This event will provide an insight into the diverse range of career paths at Almac, as well as guidance on third-level courses that provide the training and skills required for a STEM career in the pharmaceutical industry.
You will have the opportunity to take part in hands-on activities and speak with Almac staff, who work in the areas of Biology, Chemistry, IT and Quality.
