I have always worked in the healthcare industry and started my career as a market researcher in an agency environment.
When I joined Almac it was in a market research and insights role but as part of a marketing team. It was really interesting to see how things worked on the client side and I quickly started to learn more about marketing. I now have a hybrid type role on the team – looking after both insights and marketing functions. This has brought a new dimension to what I do on a daily basis and has also really broadened my skillset.
Working for an organisation such as Almac that really cares about the work it does for patients, its employees and the community is also hugely rewarding.
As the company has grown globally I have also had the opportunity to travel to Europe and further afield to the US and Asia and this is an aspect that I have really enjoyed.
If I had to pick one thing as the ‘best’ it would be how the growth of the company has exposed to me to many different aspects of business and marketing. Most recently Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) has been an important aspect for the business to consider and I have been given responsibility for managing our external message to customers and to the marketplace.
