Dara Hagan, Technical Quality Officer
The typical working day in the Process Validation team in Technical Quality usually involves both internal meetings and calls with clients to discuss strategies and plan how the Validation effort will be carried out. Once the strategy is agreed, I compile the documents detailing the tests that are needed to validate the process. It can also involve going into the production area to observe one of the validation documents being executed.
The most exciting project I have been involved in has been recently working on the Process Validation for manufacture of drug product. Having previously worked primarily on packaging validation, this was a big change and it gave me the opportunity to see the science behind the manufacture of drug products here at Almac.
Do it. Almac is a great company to work for. Almac has the feel of a small, family-run business despite being big. There is a real community of people dedicated to advancing human health.
I have been with Almac since January 2018. During my first few months I was exposed to a few different areas within the team to give me a background in Validation. Since then I have worked in the Process Validation team, and in particular in the area of Packaging Validation. I have been working closely with our Audubon team for some time on a project and this will culminate in being able to travel to the site in the USA to observe and help execute the protocols I compiled for a brand new packaging machine.
