Technical and Engineering opportunities

Technical and Engineering opportunities
We are hiring for various Technical and Engineering roles.
Working within a multi-disciplinary team, the successful candidates will be placed in roles based on their academic background and/or their technical experience in a pharmaceutical or equivalent highly regulated industry.
- The purpose of the roles are, for example, to provide technical support, through identification and qualification of new products and process introduction (NPI) and implementation of process improvement opportunities within our existing commercial operations.
- The roles are best suited to individuals with a Scientific or Engineering degree, or those with relevant technical experience within a manufacturing, packaging, or engineering environment.
Formulation Development opportunities

Formulation Development opportunities
There are two parts to the Formulation Development department. One is Formulation Development which involves a Scientist designing and manufacturing pharmaceutical formulations by combining a drug with excipients to create a final product such as a tablet or capsule. The formulations are optimised for stability, bioavailability and processability to ensure the drug delivers its intended effect safely and effectively.
The second part of the Formulation Department contains a Technical Support team involved in the writing of Master Batch Records. A Technical Writer creates clear, concise batch records to allow the manufacture of pharmaceutical products and is also involved in data checking results from development studies.
- Scientific Roles
We are hiring for various Formulation Development Scientist roles. Roles include Scientist Levels I, II and III, leading to Senior Scientist Levels 1 and II and Technical Leader Levels I and II. Successful candidates will be placed on the appropriate level based on academic background and experience in pharmaceuticals or related industries.
Third Level education required.
The role is best suited for people with a Pharmacy, Chemical / Process Engineering, or Chemistry degree, or with a similar scientific or engineering degree.
Applicants with no previous experience are welcome and will be supported through a bespoke training and development programme.
- Technical Support Team Leader (Formulation Development)
We are hiring for a Technical Support Team Leader role. This will involve generating master batch records, data checking but also line management for several Technical Specialists (Technical Writer).
Third Level education required.
The role is best suited for people with a scientific, engineering or technical degree. Previous line management experience is highly desirable.

Project Management opportunities
Project Management is central to all operations at Almac Pharma Services. The Project Manager serves as the primary contact for clients and will lead a multidisciplinary team from various Almac departments to meet client requirements. Supported by a Project Coordinator, the Project Manager will be assigned to multiple projects overseeing multiple Client accounts.
Almac Pharma Services has three distinct project management groups, each specialising in different business areas:
- Pharmaceutical Development: This group focuses on the early stages of drug development, including formulation, clinical trial material manufacturing, and analytical services. They ensure that new pharmaceutical products are developed efficiently and meet regulatory standards.
- Packaging Process Validation: This team specialises in validating packaging processes to ensure that products are safely and securely packaged. They work on designing, testing, and validating packaging solutions that comply with industry standards and client specifications.
- Ongoing Commercial Supply: This group manages the supply chain for commercial products and the relationship between Client and Almac. They oversee the production, packaging, and distribution of pharmaceutical products to ensure a continuous and reliable supply to the market.
Each group plays a crucial role in supporting client requirements and ensuring the successful delivery of pharmaceutical services.

Analytical Laboratory opportunities

Analytical Laboratory opportunities
Our expert lab teams are responsible for undertaking analysis in support of drug product manufacture, from early phase development to commercial release. Within our specialised testing laboratories, we possess experience in a wide range of analytical techniques and utilise the most advanced equipment and software packages available to ensure that all testing is performed to the highest standards.
We are currently seeking experienced laboratory professionals with backgrounds in Pharmaceutical Science, Chemistry, Microbiology or similar Life Sciences degree to join our team. Successful candidates will be placed at the appropriate level based on their academic background and experience in pharmaceuticals or related industries.
Graduates without prior experience are also welcome and will receive support through a bespoke training and development program.

Quality opportunities
The Quality Assurance (QA) department at Almac Pharma Services is integral to ensuring the safety, efficacy, and compliance of all pharmaceutical products we manufacture and distribute. QA supports the entire production process—from compiling batch records and procedures that govern operations, to assessing the impact when things don’t go as planned.
Our teams include:
- Quality Operations: Ensures manufacturing, packaging, and distribution comply with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), Good Distribution Practice (GDP), and internal quality standards.
- Quality Compliance: Oversees the Pharmaceutical Quality System to ensure procedures and processes align with regulatory requirements.
- Product Quality: Verifies that each batch meets the required quality standards before it is certified for use.
- Technical Quality: Manages qualification and validation of systems and processes to maintain GMP compliance. This ensures operations are fit for purpose and ultimately safeguards patient safety.
Who the role is suited to: These roles are ideal for individuals with a degree in Chemical/Process Engineering, Pharmacy, or Chemistry. Applicants with experience in a scientific or engineering industry are also encouraged to apply.
Levels of experience: Graduates with no previous industry experience are welcome and will be supported through a bespoke training and development programme. All roles offer structured development pathways, with opportunities to progress into specialist or leadership positions within the QA function.
