Working in a specialised industry, we recognise that at the time of application, a Production Technician may not possess the required knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry. Entry to this role can therefore be via the ‘pharmaceutical/engineering experience’ route or via non-experienced (Graduate) route. Graduate Production Technicians | Production Technicians |
For new graduates, the route to the role of Production Technician is via the Graduate Production Technician role.
We have roles suitable for those people with a third level education (e.g. HNC, HND (or higher) in a Life Science or Engineering subject), and no previous experience.
A Graduate Production Technician can expect to progress to a Production Technician within 2 – 3 years (dependent on performance). |
The role is suitable for people with significant relevant experience working within the pharmaceutical industry or in an engineering environment. |
We are also interested in applicants who have relevant operational experience gained outside the pharmaceutical industry. We have roles suitable for people with significant relevant experience working within a related regulated environment (e.g. food or beverage production or aerospace). For such an applicants the exact entry point into the organisation will be based on skills and previous experience.
Career Pathway to Production Technician from various starting points:
Almac has a structured career progression pathway to ensure that all personnel have the opportunity to progress within the origination and fulfil their full potential. This includes further career moves into management or technical positions.

The starting salary for this role is dependent on the applicant’s qualifications and experience.

· Level 1 starting salary £32,000 (excluding shift premium)
· New employees can start on Level 1 or Level 2 based on experience; with an employee’s starting salary based on previous experience · Candidates who start at Level 1, who display high levels of competency, are eligible for promotion to Production Technician Level 2 · This is managed through the company annual Performance Management Process |

Maintenance
We are hiring Mechanical and Electrical Engineers.
- The starting salary is based on previous experience and is competitive in relation to current operational and technical roles.
- Shifts available: Continental days (shift premium 20%) and Continental nights (shift premium 36%)
- Successful candidates will be placed on the appropriate level based on academic background and experience in pharmaceuticals or related industries.
- The purpose of the role is to work within a multi-disciplinary team providing technical support, for example, through validation of new equipment, qualification of new products and qualification of line extensions for existing commercial products.
- To provide engineering support through comprehensive maintenance of plant, equipment, and auxiliary services, through reactive and PPM.

In this exciting time of growth at Almac Pharma Services we are interested to meet with candidates who have warehouse operations experience and those within logistics who have experience arranging shipments worldwide.
- We have no open Logistics roles at this moment in time but we are interested to speak with candidates and collect CVs for future recruitment.
- Currently we have various shifts ranging from standard office hours within logistics services to rotating day shifts within the warehouse.
- Salaries are competitive in relation to the operational roles. Those roles with rotating day shifts have an additional shift rate of 16.7%.
