Richard Shannon
Current Role
Richard began his clinical trials career 25 years ago, after graduating from Belfast’s prestigious Queen’s University with a BSc (Hons) in Zoology. Joining Almac in 1999 as a Sales Coordinator, Richard has since worked across various roles within Business Development, as an individual contributor, manager and leader supporting Europe, the USA and Asia.
In his current position as VP Business Development for the Europe and APAC regions, Richard is responsible for leading the European and APAC BD teams, supporting the development of industry-leading service propositions, and delivering strategic growth for Almac’s Clinical Services division.
With a quarter of a century of clinical trials experience under his belt, coupled with impressive commercial acumen and strong leadership capabilities, Richard is proud to represent an organisation which ‘has never stood still’ and support customers and colleagues to drive forward innovation in an industry that ‘strives to deliver new and improved therapies and treatments.’
