Almac Donate $50,000 to Harleysville Area Emergency Medical Services

August 11, 2008

Local pharmaceutical development organisation, Almac today announced a major $50,000 donation to Harleysville Area Emergency Medical Services (HAEMS). The donation comes just a week after Almac broke the ground for their new $100million Headquarters in the LowerSalfordTownship area.

Construction of the new 240,000 sq ft building on the 40acre site starts this month and is expected to be completed in 2010. In addition to the current 495 staff relocating, an extra 265 jobs will be created.

Jim Murphy, President & Managing Director, Almac Clinical Technologies said: “At Almac we are conscious of our status as relative newcomers to the Lower Salford community. This is why we are delighted to donate this money to HAEMS, an organisation that has a proud tradition of saving lives and serving the local community with distinction for over 100 years.

“Although our building project has yet to really take shape we at Almac believe this donation shows that our commitment to the Lower Salford community is concrete.

“Almac is committed to advancing human health, but due to the nature of our business the research often has a considerable run-in time before it can make the real difference we all want to see. This partnering with HAEMS will make an immediate impact to frontline services in the local community. But in the long term we are confident that our move to Montgomery County will allow us to develop and continue to produce the world class healthcare research that will improve standards of health.”
