Almac Scoops Top UK Training Award

December 18, 2006

Almac Clinical Services has scooped a UK National Training Award. The prestigious ceremony, held at the Royal Lancaster Hotel in London, recognises UK firms engaging in top quality training and development for staff. This award followed the two awards which Almac won at the regional ceremony held in Northern Ireland in November.

Zoe Young, Almac Clinical Services Learning and Development Officer was in London to accept the award. Zoe said: “I am honoured to accept this award on behalf of all those at Almac. The development of our staff is of prime importance, and this national award recognises Almac’s commitment to its employees.”

Almac Clinical Services received the award for the implementation of a unique training programme which was designed to include a broad spectrum of learning and development skills, including communication, management as well as specific technical, business and IT applications.

“The benefits have included record turnover in the past year. Almac Clinical Services gained 48 new customers in 2005 and a further 60 in 2006. In addition during 2006, one in three new posts have been filled via internal promotion and transfer. This is a strong indication of the success of our investment and staff development through this training programme,” said Zoe.

Sir Allen McClay, Chairman of Almac said: “On behalf of the Almac family, I should like to take this opportunity to congratulate Zoe and all at Clinical Services on this award. This UK wide recognition is testament to Almac’s commitment to the development of our staff, which is of the utmost importance to our company.”
