NI’s top Pharma Company gives tips on careers in the industry

A delegation from the Almac Group today visited Queen’s University’s School of Pharmacy to give students a full insight into careers in the Pharmaceutical and Biotech sectors.

The delegation, which included staff from across the Almac Group, were on hand to provide full details on the different careers available at Almac for pharmacists, as well as a full overview of the company. The delegation also discussed various types of careers available in the Pharmaceutical and Biotech sectors.

The delegation included Kerry Kennedy – Market Development Co-ordinator, Almac Group, Michelle Foust – Director of New Product Development, Clinical Services (North Carolina), Colin Lorimar – Senior Formulation Development Scientist, Pharma Services and Brian Lavery – Senior Regulatory Affairs Scientist, Almac Group.

Alan Armstrong, CEO Almac Group said: “Almac is committed to working with both the second and third level education sectors to ensure that students develop and maintain an interest in science, and are also fully briefed on the wide range of careers available in the sector.”

Sir Allen McClay, Chairman, Almac Group, added: “We need top level science graduates for the future so that we can maintain our competitiveness. The importance of proper science education both at school and at University cannot be overestimated, and it is important that the government ensures that science education is well funded both at second and third level.”
