Top of the Class for Almac Fundraisers
August 8, 2007
Staff from Almac recently got together for a fundraising hockey match to raise money for Hemihelp, a UK based charity that provides information, advice and support to children and young people suffering from hemiplegia.
Employees from the Pharma Services division played a St Trinian’s themed hockey game and were joined by members of the Portadown Ladies Hockey Club. The evening ended with a light Barbeque, and the event raised well over £1,000 for the charity.
Almac employee Lindsay O’Connor, who has been involved with Hemihelp in Northern Ireland, said: “The money raised through our fundraising has helped raise the profile of the Northern Ireland support group. Specifically, this money will be used to fund a music workshop for children in the region who suffer from hemiplegia.”
“Hemihelp is also planning a wider programme of events for Ireland in 2008, including a Children’s Fun Day, Parent’s conference and a Professional’s conference. I would also like to thank the company, and all those involved in our recent fundraising efforts,” she added.
